About Us

The vision for Transform Communications began taking shape in 1993 while former agency creative director Rich Layton worked alongside Big 5 consultant teams on large-scale corporate technology and change management initiatives for global energy clients. After the high-dollar guys moved on, Rich stayed to address the recurring gaps he saw between the ROI promised and the ROI delivered, an impact he quantified and dubbed The Cost of Confusion. Since then, Rich and a team of dedicated creative partners have delivered literally millions of dollars in bottom line benefits to clients.

Meet Our Chief Clarity Officer

An award-winning communicator and published thought leader, Rich Layton has worked with clients in more than a dozen major industry sectors, from Fortune 500 corporations to start-ups, mid-size companies, non-profits and institutions. In every assignment, clients cite Rich’s aptitude for distilling complex business, technology and organizational issues quickly and knowledgeably. Other consultants spend weeks and months trying to comprehend the essentials that Rich and his team often tease out of initial conversations.

Prior to establishing Transform, Rich was vice president and creative director for Lunar Productions in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was involved in brand-building and advertising for such notable brands as FedEx, White-Westinghouse, Holiday Inn, Embassy Suites and Wyndham Hotels.

“The most important touchstones for me throughout my consulting career are the blue-collar jobs I had during high school and summers between college. I’ve punched a time clock and worked rotating shifts stocking groceries, running a cash register, loading delivery trucks, driving a forklift and mixing huge vats of toxic industrial coatings. What I learned from my coworkers on the factory floor, in the lunchrooms and locker rooms is priceless. I truly believe most people come to work each day wanting to make a difference. My mission is helping them give their gifts in the workplace.”

— Rich Layton, CCO
